City of Burnet Elections
The City of Burnet will hold a General Election to elect one Mayor and three (3) Council Members for the City of Burnet on May 3, 2025.

The first day a candidate may file an application for a place on the ballot is Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. Candidate packets will be available in the City Secretary's Office beginning Wednesday, January 15, 2025. The filing deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025.
La Ciudad de Burnet llevará a cabo una Elección General para elegir un Alcade y tres (3) Miembros del Concejo para la Ciudad de Burnet el 3 de mayo de 2025.
El primer día que un candidato puede presentar una solicitud para un lugar en la boleta es el miércoles 15 de enero de 2025 a las 8:00 a.m. Los paquetes de candidatos estarán disponibles en la Oficina del Secretario de la Ciudad a partir del miércoles 15 de enero de 2025. Candidate qualifications
According to the City of Burnet Charter, Section 3.02, a candidate for an elective office shall meet the following qualifications:
- Shall be a United States citizen.
- Shall be a registered voter of the City and twenty-one (21) years of age or over.
- Shall have resided for at least twelve (12) months preceding the election within the corporate limits of the City or within an area having been annexed into the City.
- Shall not have been finally convicted of a felony from which the candidate has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities.
- Shall be disqualified by reason of having been judged incompetent by a final judgment of court, or by reason of any provision of any other section of this Charter or by any provision of state law.
- Shall note be a candidate for any other office in the same election.
- Shall not be an employee of the City at the time of filing for office.
