Active/Upcoming Road Rehabilitation Projects

Road Closures September 20-22 

Many roads previously received pavement preservation treatment, and some minor repairs are now needed for the following streets- Please see attachment below for Sept 20-22 Road Closures for maps.

-Roads will be closed 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
-No parking on or within 50 feet of treated streets
-Turn off outdoor water
-Do not drive on closed roads
-Emergency vehicles are permitted.

Wofford St- July 7th - February 2026

September 10, 2025- A new 4” waterline will be installed starting at 1406 Wofford Dr and will tie in at the existing water tank. Work begins September 12, 2025 and is expected to last about 1 month. Construction hours will be 7 AM – 7 PM, Monday–Saturday (no work on Sundays or holidays). Please note: weather may cause delays.

The project will be completed by Atlas Construction Corp., on behalf of the City of Burnet.
*The road will remain open; flaggers will be present to direct traffic

Safety Reminder: For your safety and ours, please do not approach crews while they are working. Road equipment and workers may be only a few feet from your vehicle. Always follow traffic signs and flaggers’ directions, and drive slowly through work zones. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

 

Wood St & Northington St: July 16 - September

Update September 12, 2025

Below is another update to Wood Street reconstruction project. In order to make good on time and open some of the road by the time school starts, the paving of North Wood will be done at once, in two days; and some work on Saturday and Sunday may occur. More details below.

Current Work:

  • Fence installation along the ball field is underway (see photo below).
  • Mailbox installation on Northington Street has been delayed until October.
  • Mailboxes have been fully installed on Wood Street.
  • Preparations are being made for the demolition of Vanderveer.

Next Week:

  • Begin curb installation along Vanderveer.
  • The Contractor is tentatively scheduling to Pave S Vanderveer the week of the September 23rd.
